"Football and Society" Panel Speaker

Prof. Tim Pawlowski
(University of Tuebingen)

Prof. Dr. Tim Pawlowski (b. 1980) studied Economics (University of Cologne), Sport Science as well as European Sport Studies (German Sport University Cologne - GSU) and earned his Ph.D. in Sport Economics with highest distinction in July 2009. He was appointed as Assistant Professor for Sport Economics (W1) at GSU in April 2010 and joined the University of Tuebingen as Full Professor (W3) for Sport Economics, Sport Management and Sport Media Research in October 2012.

His main fields of research are the analysis of sports demand (influencing factors / effects of sport participation) as well as the economics of (league) competitions. Tim Pawlowski was scholar in the UEFA Research Grant Program 2011/12, conducted research projects for (amongst others) the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) and the Hamburger Sport-Verein e.V. (HSV) and published in Journals such as Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, Journal of Sports Economics and European Sport Management Quarterly.
